IPI SERVICES

1. WORKSHOPS

IPI is a collaborative platform, where companies engaged in Insetting, invite service providers, project developers (both local and international ones), impact funds, academic partners and certification bodies to collaborate on Insetting programs, projects and practices, Insetting tools, methodologies… So as to raise the bar collectively and spread best practices. The IPI therefore designs a yearly program of workshops through which IPI members are invited to work together on specific issues, using their different experience and expertise, and present their learnings and results to the rest of the platform. The platform encourages collaboration between members and animates various collective workshops to create valuable methodologies and tools for all members.

3. STANDARD

IPI offers an Insetting Standard, that allows Insetting programs and projects to be certified by a third party, This helps to build up the legitimacy of the programs and companies engagement. The Standard is very ambitious, targeting ultimately the reconciliation of the organization with its ecosystem. Yet, the Standard is open to companies willing to engage even from day 1 and with limited resources in the beginning, but with the commitment to engage in continuous progress, towards full Circle Sustainability. The Standard both validates the Management System of the Insetting Program and Project(s) and reviews the impacts generated by the Insetting program and projects, on multiple criteria. IPI assists its members in using the Standard and updating it regularly.

2. LIBRARY

The work of the groups is posted online the IPI website, once validated during the IPI quarterly meetings. All documents shared in open source by the members is presented as well in the IPI Library and documentation center. The objective is to create a very comprehensive toolbox with multiple methodologies for Insetting, valuing and spreading best practices.

4. REGISTRY

IPI allows as well all programs, projects and benefits generated to be registered in a unique, decentralized, transparent and permanent way thanks to a Registry Blockchain powered. This ensures total transparency, traceability and follow-up on all ecosystem services and positive impacts generated. IPI assists its members in registering their projects and impacts via the Blockchain.

1. WORKSHOPS

IPI is a collaborative platform, where companies engaged in Insetting, invite service providers, project developers (both local and international ones), impact funds, academic partners and certification bodies to collaborate on Insetting programs, projects and practices, share best practices, Insetting tools, methodologies, etc. to participate to create a movement around Insetting and leverage socio-environmental innovations within all companies.

All members are invited to share their methodologies and projects information in open source. The platform encourages collaboration between members and animates various collective workshops to create valuable methodologies and tools for all members.

2. LIBRARY

The work done within the working groups and all documents and methodologies shared by the members are gathered under the IPI Library, shared by all members and animated as a 2.0 platform.

The objective is both to present best practices to raise the bar collectively, as well as emerging ones, to encourage progress and additional impact with maximum participation and leverage. By developing a comprehensive methodologies library, IPI wishes to concentrate all best-in-class tools for Insetting a footprint in a unique place.

IPI members post their program and projects methodologies and descriptions, monitoring and impact reports. They can do so individually or as a working group.

Various methodologies are presented for a collective online brainstorm: insetting with agroforestry, solar energy, methanization, other renewables, etc.

Documents (case studies, insetting techniques, presentations, tools, etc.) are shared in total open source or among members only, depending on each organization sharing the methodology.

3. STANDARD & CERTIFICATIONS

IPI has developed a Standard for Insetting, allowing to certify the organizations Insetting programs and projects. The approach is progressive, engaging members to gradually increase their engagements and levels of verification. The certification applies to the Insetting program of the organization and corresponding project(s).

Ecocert is the strategic certification body of IPI but the Standard is open to other recognized certification bodies (ISO 65). Rotation of use of certification bodies and using a variety of certification bodies between projects and programs is encouraged and valued via the registry.

4. IPI BLOCKCHAIN REGISTRY

“The practical consequence […is…] for the first time, a way for one Internet user to transfer a unique piece of digital property to another Internet user, such that the transfer is guaranteed to be safe and secure, everyone knows that the transfer has taken place, and nobody can challenge the legitimacy of the transfer. The consequences of this breakthrough are hard to overstate.”

Marc Andreessen, Inventor of the internet browser

IPI uses the blockchain technology to register the Insetting programs and projects and the multiple impacts they generate. This is seen as a real breakthrough, both for registering the carbon credits generated by the projects in a fully transparent, decentralized and permanent way, as well as opening the door to the registration of any kind of ecosystem service generated by the Insetting projects.

It is not feasible for an organization to certify all impact criteria for all Insetting projects, but the Blockchain technology allows to record all these impacts generated in a transparent, immuable, collaborative and comprehensive way.

The Registry is only open to IPI members and all ecosystem services generated are non-tradable, they are retired (canceled) as soon as they are registered in the Registry, since they are used to inset the footprint of the organization. All Insets are not tradable, except within the subsidiaries of the organization for example, but not to any other external organization.
